We are looking for a DevOps Engineer Networking with a passion for networking. Together with your colleagues in the DevOps team, you will work broadly on an environment where technology and social relevance come together.

Your Mission

• Network Architecture: You manage and optimize our core infrastructure. Whether it concerns physical switches or software-routers, you ensure the perfect flow.
• Essential Services: You are responsible for the backbone of our services, from DNS and DHCP to security solutions such as Hashicorp Vault and VPN connections.
• Performance & Scalability: You manage our load balancers to guide traffic to Smartschool in the right direction.
• Cloud & Automation: You bridge the gap between our Kubernetes environments and the existing infrastructure. Manual and repetitive work? You minimize that through your steadfast belief in Infrastructure as Code.
• Security First: You increase security through smart network segmentation, Linux firewall management, and proactive detection of anomalies.

Your Profile

Education & Experience

• Education: You have a Bachelor's or Master's degree in an IT field (e.g., Applied Computer Science or Electronics-ICT), or you are equivalent through experience.
• Experience: You have already gained solid experience within complex network environments and/or a DevOps role.
• Linux Expert: You feel completely at home in a Linux environment (management and firewalls).
• Mindset: You always strive to professionalize in your job and do not shy away from new challenges. You maintain a positive but critical attitude to achieve good results.

Technical Knowledge

• Networking: In-depth knowledge of protocols such as BGP, OSPF, VRRP, TCP/IP and experience with managing routers & switches.
• Infrastructure as Code: You have experience with automation tools such as Terraform and Puppet.
• Cloud & Containers: You are familiar with Kubernetes, vSphere, and AWS environments.
• Security & Monitoring: You have a keen eye for security and cleverly use data to detect anomalies and maximize performance.
• Services: Knowledge of DNS, DHCP, load balancers, and web servers is self-evident to you.
