As a Data Science Manager at SmarterDx, you will lead a team of data scientists and play a critical role in scaling our Clinical AI Platform through strategic vision and operational excellence. You will be responsible for creating and executing a comprehensive data science strategy that identifies and prioritizes core modeling components across multiple product lines while fostering a culture of innovation and technical excellence.

What You'll Do

• Develop and execute a comprehensive data science strategy.
• Lead, mentor, and grow a team of 5-8 data scientists.
• Partner with Product and Engineering teams for data science roadmaps.
• Identify and remove blockers to ensure project success.
• Recruit top-tier talent and foster a collaborative team culture.
• Guide architectural decisions for modeling infrastructure and tooling.
• Establish data science best practices and methodologies.
• Drive cross-functional collaboration and implement performance metrics.

What You Bring

• 2+ years managing data scientists or similar roles.
• 8+ years of hands-on experience in data science and machine learning.
• Strong technical foundation in Python, SQL, PyTorch, and scikit-learn.
• Experience in healthcare, medical data, or revenue cycle management.
• Proven track record in scaling teams and process improvement.
• Expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and MLOps best practices.
• Exceptional communication and strategic leadership skills.
• Experience in architectural decision-making for ML infrastructure.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of explainable AI and model interpretability techniques.
• Experience with Large Language Models (LLMs).
• Background in revenue cycle management or hospital operations.
• Prior startup or high-growth environment experience.
• Experience managing remote or distributed teams.

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary: $220,000 - $250,000 + equity
