Senior / Principal Java & Agentic AI Engineer

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Senior / Principal Software Engineer specializing in Java and Agentic AI Systems to join an enterprise delivery team for Marriott International.

In this role, you will be directly responsible for writing clean, high-performance Java microservices, implementing autonomous AI agent workflows, and building RAG pipelines to enhance guest experiences and enterprise automation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Hands-on Coding & Execution: Write robust, production-grade Java code, Spring Boot microservices, and AI integrations following clean code principles.
  • Agentic AI Implementation: Build autonomous agent workflows using ReAct patterns, tool/function calling, multi-agent coordination, and structured LLM output generation.
  • RAG & Vector Search Integration: Design and maintain Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines, integrating vector databases with enterprise datastores.
  • API & System Integration: Connect AI agent frameworks with core Marriott legacy APIs, relational databases, and real-time streaming platforms (Kafka).
  • Testing & Optimization: Write unit/integration tests, perform memory and execution tuning, and debug complex agent reasoning loops for production stability.

Required Technical Skills & Qualifications

1. Java & Core Backend Engineering (12+ Years)

  • Tech Stack: Core mastery of Java (17/21), Spring Boot 3.x, Spring Cloud, and Reactive Programming.
  • Microservices & Messaging: Hands-on experience building RESTful APIs, Event-Driven microservices (Kafka / RabbitMQ), and using distributed caching (Redis).
  • Databases: Advanced proficiency with Relational DBs (PostgreSQL/Oracle) and NoSQL stores.
  • Code Quality & Testing: Deep knowledge of multithreading, concurrency, unit testing (JUnit 5, Mockito), and integration testing frameworks (Testcontainers).
