The Role: Early Career Hydrogeologist

As an Early Career Hydrogeologist, you will join a dynamic and collaborative team comprising hydrogeologists, hydrologists, engineers, geochemists, surficial geologists, ecologists, geomorphologists, technologists, technicians, and environmental scientists. You will work on multi-disciplinary projects within a supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct field data collection, entry, and organization with the Groundwater Modeling team.
  • Be responsible for data processing and management, analyzing large and complex datasets.
  • Support the preparation of high-quality technical reports and proposals.
  • Assist with project coordination.
  • Work collaboratively under the mentorship and supervision of senior and intermediate technical staff.

  • Competitive total compensation package, including comprehensive benefits, vacation, and wellness initiatives.
  • The salary range for this full-time, permanent position is $65,000 – $75,000, commensurate with education, experience, and location.

Qualifications

  • Minimum two years of experience in hydrology, geomorphology, groundwater, and groundwater field methods.
  • Degree in Hydrogeology or a related discipline.
  • Proficiency with R, Python, and/or a background in computer science and other applicable programming languages.
  • Swiftwater training, ATV/UTV/Argo Safe Operations certifications are desirable.
  • Registration (or eligibility for registration) as a Geoscientist in Training (G.I.T.) or Engineer in Training (E.I.T.) in BC would be an asset.
  • Flexibility and willingness to travel for fieldwork.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Valid BC driver's license.
