About the role
Senior Game Animator
Sloclap, an independent game studio based in Paris, is seeking a Senior Game Animator to enhance the impact of animation in their future projects. You will report to the Lead Gameplay Animation and join a team of 15 individuals with diverse experience levels. We highly value teamwork and mutual support. As a Senior Game Animator, your primary responsibilities will include:- Bringing characters to life through compelling animation.
- Cleverly and efficiently meeting the constraints of a strong animation direction and technical requirements to create fun, engaging, and innovative gameplay experiences.
- Ability to create high-quality keyframe animations in Maya and integrate them into our version of Unreal Engine.
- Proficiency in creating believable creature animations of various types.
- A strong understanding of physical movement, weight, balance, and body mechanics.
- In-depth knowledge of Maya.
- Familiarity with the constraints specific to gameplay animation.
- Ability to design, collaborate, and prototype ideas using mood boards and investigation animations.
- Good general technical understanding of game development.
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to contribute to the improvement of animation tools and processes.
- Successfully completed the production of at least one significant work as an animator.
- Experience with rapid iteration cycles and comfort in testing, adjusting, and evolving proposals iteratively.
- Teamwork skills, ability to prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
