The Purpose

Slickdeals is seeking a seasoned Senior Data Engineer to join their high-impact team. In this role, you will inherit and evolve a mature data ecosystem built over 3+ years using Databricks, dbt, Airflow, AWS, Tableau, and AtScale. You will maintain and modernize core data pipelines to enable analytics, reporting, and cost-effective scalable infrastructure.

What You'll Do

• Own and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines with dbt, Airflow, and Databricks.
• Develop and optimize data models in AtScale for Tableau BI tools.
• Collaborate with Analytics, Product, and Engineering teams for reliable data delivery.
• Monitor and troubleshoot data workflows ensuring high performance.
• Support AWS cloud infrastructure including S3, Kafka, EC2, Lambda, and IAM.
• Contribute to cost optimization across data storage, compute, and tooling.
• Document systems, processes, and tribal knowledge.
• Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and team rituals.

What We're Looking For

Required Experience: BS/BA/BE degree in a quantitative field or equivalent experience, 8+ years in data/analytics engineering, strong proficiency in SQL, Python, dbt, hands-on experience with Databricks, Airflow, AWS, familiarity with semantic modeling, and experience with Tableau dashboards.

Preferred Experience: Experience with cost monitoring tools, vendor integrations and APIs, exposure to AtScale or modern data platforms, and a passion for mentoring and knowledge sharing.

Location & Schedule

This is a contract to hire opportunity with a full-time hybrid schedule in Las Vegas, NV. The role requires being in the office three days per week (Tuesday through Thursday).

Compensation & Benefits

The expected base pay ranges from $122,000 to $142,800. Additional benefits include competitive salary, comprehensive healthcare plans, and opportunities for growth. Employment eligibility in the United States is required.
