Who You'll Work With
We are seeking a high-performing AI Governance Managing Consultant to join our growing Data Strategy practice. In this role, you will advise Fortune 500 and regulated-industry clients on building enterprise-grade AI governance programs that enable innovation while managing risk and meeting evolving regulatory expectations. You will work alongside multidisciplinary teams spanning risk, legal, cybersecurity, data, and technology to deliver scalable, defensible AI operating models.
For this role On-site at the client will be required 3-4 days per week
What You’ll Do
- Lead client engagements focused on AI governance, regulatory readiness, and responsible AI program design.
- Conduct enterprise AI risk assessments, maturity diagnostics, and regulatory gap analyses.
- Design and implement AI governance frameworks, policies, and operating models consistent with global regulatory requirements.
- Translate emerging regulations and standards (e.g., EU AI Act, NIST AI RMF, ISO/IEC 42001, data protection laws) into practical client controls and processes.
- Advise boards, executive committees, and senior risk leaders on AI oversight, compliance strategies, and regulatory developments.
- Partner with client stakeholders across Legal, Compliance, IT, Data Science, Privacy, and Internal Audit to embed governance across the AI lifecycle.
- Define and operationalize AI intake processes, use-case approvals, model validation protocols, monitoring controls, and audit documentation.
- Support the creation of client deliverables such as governance roadmaps, regulatory readiness assessments, board presentations, and policy toolkits.
- Monitor enforcement trends and regulatory developments to inform client advisory approaches.
- Support business development through proposal development, RFP responses, thought leadership, and client pursuits.
- Contribute to the development of the firm’s AI governance offerings, accelerators, and methodologies.
What You’ll Bring
- 5+ years of experience in management consulting, risk advisory, regulatory consulting, or technology governance roles, with 2+ years focused on AI, analytics, or emerging technology risk.
- Proven experience delivering client-facing engagements in regulated environments.
- Strong understanding of AI lifecycle management, model risk management, and responsible AI principles.
- Familiarity with AI technologies (e.g., machine learning, generative AI, NLP) and the associated governance implications.
- Ability to communicate complex regulatory and technical topics to senior executives, boards, and regulators.
- Experience managing workstreams, mentoring junior consultants, and coordinating cross-functional delivery teams.
- Strong written and presentation skills, including development of executive-level materials.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience serving clients in financial services, healthcare, telecommunications, energy, or public sector environments.
- Knowledge of global AI regulations and standards, including: EU AI Act, NIST AI Risk Management Framework, ISO/IEC 42001, Model Risk Management frameworks.
- Background in privacy, cybersecurity, third-party risk, or enterprise risk management.
- Familiarity with GRC platforms, model inventory tools, regulatory reporting systems, or audit technologies.
- Experience contributing to practice development, thought leadership, or go-to-market initiatives.
- Experience with operating model design, change management, or large-scale regulatory transformation programs.

Slalom is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. For this role, we are hiring at the following levels and targeted base pay salary ranges: The targeted base salary pay range for this role is $158,000 to $215,000. In addition, individuals may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. Actual compensation will depend upon an individual’s skills, experience, qualifications, location, and other relevant factors. The salary pay range is subject to change and may be modified at any time.
