Job Overview
Skyborne Games (Canada) is an indie mobile studio creating charming 2D idle games. Our team, founded by developers from Riot Games, Electronic Arts, and DreamWorks Animation, values every idea and contribution. As a Technical Artist - 2D Generalist, you will bridge art and code to deliver delightful UI, responsive animations, and smooth workflows in Unity (C#).
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Designers, Artists, and Tech Art Lead for intuitive UX.
- Implement and polish new feature UX for live events.
- Write clean, maintainable UX code following MVC principles.
- Add personality via UI animations and visual effects.
- Manage and organize assets through a data-driven art pipeline.
- Create or enhance tools to speed up creative workflows.
- Optimize art and code performance for smooth gameplay.
- Troubleshoot and solve technical art issues with artists.
Requirements
- 3+ years of professional game industry experience.
- B.S. in Computer Science or related field preferred.
- Highly proficient in Unity C# and familiar with data structures and algorithms.
- Experience with uGUI, Mecanim Animation, Particle System.
- Experience managing content pipelines for games.
- Curious, detail-oriented, and strong problem-solver.
Bonus Skills
- Python scripting or tooling experience.
- UI art design or creation skills.
- Experience improving game feel.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted or traditional video production.
- Basic audio editing knowledge.
