About the role
Senior Python Engineer
We’re looking for a Senior Backend Engineer (Python / FastAPI) to design and build scalable backend services using FastAPI and async Python. You’ll work on high-performance APIs, cloud-native systems, and data-heavy applications, with ownership over architecture decisions and production reliability.

What You’ll Do
- Design and build scalable backend services using FastAPI and async Python
- Define API architecture, data models, and service boundaries
- Optimize performance across APIs, databases, and async workloads
- Implement secure authentication (OAuth2, JWT) and data protection best practices
- Design and tune PostgreSQL schemas, queries, and connection strategies
- Containerize and deploy services using Docker and cloud infrastructure (Azure preferred)
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for reliable delivery
- Integrate external services (including AI/ML APIs where relevant)
- Work closely with frontend, data, and product teams on end-to-end solutions
What We’re Looking For
- 5+ years of experience building backend systems with Python
- Strong expertise in FastAPI and async programming
- Solid understanding of API design, system architecture, and scalability
- Experience with PostgreSQL and performance optimization
- Hands-on experience with cloud environments (Azure, AWS, or GCP)
- Experience with Docker, microservices, and CI/CD pipelines
- Ability to make pragmatic technical decisions and own solutions end-to-end
Nice to Have
- Experience integrating AI/ML or LLM-based services
- Familiarity with event-driven systems or message queues
- Experience with observability (logging, monitoring, tracing)
