Data Analyst – Fully Remote Freelance Role
SkillsCapital is seeking multiple Data Analysts to join international data, analytics, and decision intelligence teams. These fully remote, long-term freelance roles are perfect for analysts skilled in working with large datasets, generating actionable insights, building dashboards, and supporting data-driven decision-making across business and product teams. Engagement Details
- Type: Independent Freelance Consultant
- Location: 100% Remote
- Duration: Initial 12-month contract, extendable to multi-year
- Start Date: Immediate or within the next few weeks
- Clients: Global enterprises, SaaS companies, and analytics-led teams
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze structured and semi-structured data to generate meaningful business insights.
- Write complex SQL queries to extract, transform, and analyze data from multiple sources.
- Build and maintain dashboards, reports, and self-serve analytics using BI tools.
- Partner with product, business, marketing, finance, and operations teams to define metrics and KPIs.
- Translate ambiguous business questions into clear analytical approaches and outputs.
- Identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities using descriptive and diagnostic analysis.
- Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and reliability in reports and dashboards.
- Document assumptions, methodologies, and definitions to support data governance.
- Support ad-hoc analysis, executive reporting, and stakeholder presentations.
- Collaborate with data engineering teams on data quality, modeling, and pipeline improvements.
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience as a Data Analyst or similar role.
- Strong proficiency in SQL (mandatory).
- Experience working with BI / visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, Looker, or similar).
- Solid understanding of data modeling, metrics, and KPI design.
- Ability to communicate insights clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience working independently in a remote, distributed environment.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Python or R for data analysis.
- Exposure to cloud data warehouses (BigQuery, Redshift, Snowflake, Synapse).
- Familiarity with product analytics, funnel analysis, or cohort analysis.
- Experience working with large datasets and performance-optimized queries.
- Understanding of A/B testing concepts and experimentation frameworks.
- Exposure to data quality checks, validation, and governance practices.
- Experience working alongside data engineers and ML teams.
- Prior experience in SaaS, enterprise, or high-growth environments.
