Brief Overview Of This Role
We are seeking a mid-level Full Stack Engineer to join our supportive and collaborative engineering team at Sitemate. This role is perfect for someone who has successfully built and shipped real products in production environments and is ready to take on more ownership and impact. You should be comfortable working independently on well-scoped problems, making thoughtful trade-offs, and contributing to technical discussions, while also being eager to learn and grow alongside experienced engineers.
You will work across a broad range of problem spaces, including web and mobile development, backend systems, AI-powered features, and infrastructure. This position offers the autonomy to own meaningful work end-to-end, with strong support from senior engineers who prioritize code quality, product outcomes, and your continuous professional development.

- Remuneration (Including Super): AUD $115,000 - $160,000 pending your experience

What will I be doing day to day in this role?
- Collaborate with the engineering team on product development and backend systems.
- Design, build, and ship features independently within defined scopes, seeking senior engineer support for complex tasks.
- Own bug fixes and stability improvements end-to-end, from investigation to deployment.
- Confidently diagnose and resolve production issues.
- Write clean, well-structured, and maintainable code, and actively participate in code reviews and technical discussions.
- Incrementally take ownership of systems and features, contributing to technical direction and continuous improvement.
What will be the biggest challenges for me in this role?
- Our products, while simple for users, possess high technical complexity, involving shared components across multiple products and backend services for web and mobile clients, presenting a significant learning curve.
- The fast pace of Sitemate requires rapid learning and adaptation.
- Sitemate's strong culture, based on core values and standard operating procedures, may necessitate unlearning previous work habits.
What kind of skills and experience do I need to have? (ideally most but not all)
- Javascript/Typescript experience, including Node and Angular or React/React Native, is preferred.
- A passion for frontend development, including CSS.
- MongoDB and AWS experience is a bonus.
- Experience with building no/low code automation product(s) is a bonus.
