Business Intelligence Analyst Developer Medicaid ETL Modernization

The client is seeking an experienced Business Intelligence Analyst / Developer to support the modernization of the Health Analytics Library (HAL) Medicaid reporting data mart. The selected candidate will play a key role in converting legacy SAS-based ETL processes into SQL and Python-based solutions while supporting Medicaid claims analytics, enrollment reporting, and healthcare data modernization initiatives. This role requires strong hands-on experience with Medicaid administrative data, ETL development, SQL programming, Python development, data warehousing, and healthcare analytics. Candidates must demonstrate recent experience working with Medicaid claims data and enterprise ETL processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze existing HAL data systems, architecture, schemas, tables, ETL processes, and reporting environments.
  • Gather, document, and validate business, technical, data, and integration requirements.
  • Design, develop, and implement ETL pipelines for Medicaid data processing.
  • Convert legacy SAS ETL processes into SQL and Python-based solutions.
  • Develop and maintain SQL stored procedures, transformations, and data integration workflows.
  • Build and optimize data pipelines supporting Medicaid enrollment and claims reporting.
  • Create and maintain data models, tables, views, and reporting structures.
  • Perform testing, troubleshooting, validation, and production deployment activities.
  • Collaborate with project managers, business analysts, DBAs, architects, and healthcare stakeholders.
  • Support modernization initiatives involving AWS and future Azure migration readiness.
  • Develop technical documentation, code documentation, and implementation guides.
  • Participate in code reviews and release management activities.
