What You'll Do

As the Accounting Manager, Inventory, COGS & Gross Margin at SimpliSafe, you will lead accounting and reporting for key margin-driving activities. Reporting as part of our Order-to-Cash (OTC) team, you will manage monthly close processes, collaborate with FP&A, Operations, and Logistics, and provide actionable insights into inventory accuracy and margin trends.

  • Lead end-to-end accounting, reporting, and analysis for inventory and gross margin under US GAAP.
  • Oversee monthly close processes and reconciliations for inventory and COGS accounts.
  • Manage inventory reserves analysis and propose necessary adjustments.
  • Collaborate with Logistics and Manufacturing Operations to ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Prepare monthly margin analysis with variance commentary and partner with FP&A.
  • Drive improvements in reporting tools, processes and strengthen internal controls.
  • Provide leadership and development for the supporting team.

What You'll Need

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; CPA strongly preferred.
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience in a product- or channel-driven business.
  • Deep understanding of inventory and COGS accounting under U.S. GAAP.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in margin reporting and variance analysis.
  • Experience collaborating with FP&A and other cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in Excel and ERP systems such as NetSuite.
  • Prior supervisory or mentorship experience preferred.
