Role Overview: Lead Data Engineer - Data Extraction Team Manager

We are seeking a Team Manager for our Data Extraction Team. You will lead a squad of Backend/Data Engineers managing large-scale web scraping, smart API integrations, and strategic data partnerships. Your role entails capturing data, transforming it into production-ready assets, and delivering it to various teams.

Tech Stack

  • AWS cloud (s3, ec2, sqs, firehose, lambda, iam)
  • Microservices on Kubernetes
  • Spark on Databricks, datalakes
  • Airflow
  • Coding primarily in Python (and a bit of Go)

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a Growing Team: Manage, prioritize, and assign projects to your team.
  • Design Data Pipelines: Engineer state-of-the-art data pipelines.
  • Analyze Requirements: Collaborate with product managers to plan roadmaps.
  • Hands-on Involvement: Actively participate in project execution.
  • Innovate: Develop POCs, explore new technologies and data sources.
  • Communicate: Represent your team’s datasets and capabilities to stakeholders.
  • Develop Skills: Mentor and provide feedback to team members.

What We’re Looking For

  • 5+ years’ experience in backend development with big-data technologies.
  • 2+ years’ experience in leading data engineering projects.
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS or GCP).
