Position Summary - Customer Quality Engineer

This role leads customer-focused quality assurance initiatives to ensure high customer satisfaction. It acts as the main liaison for customer quality issues, overseeing customer audits and interfacing with production, engineering, and sales teams to address quality concerns.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Serve as primary liaison for customer quality issues and RMA investigations.
  • Analyze warranty claims, audit findings and quality performance metrics.
  • Supervise and guide a team addressing finished product audits and compliance.
  • Implement and maintain quality processes like RMA, RCCA, Apollo, A3, and PDCA.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to identify root causes and implement corrective actions using DFMEA, PFMEA, and control plans.
  • Maintain outgoing inspection, product traceability, and data analysis systems (SPC, Pareto).
  • Prepare and present customer-facing quality reports and metrics.
  • Support Quality Management Systems (QMS) and foster a culture of continuous improvement.

Qualifications

Skills: Leadership, delegation, regulatory interpretation, root cause analysis (8D, 5-Why, Fishbone), and proficiency in SPC, Minitab, Excel, and PowerPoint. Familiarity with QMS (ISO 9001), FMEA, and CAPA is required.

Traits: Analytical, detail-oriented, action-oriented, customer-centric, and strong communicator.

Education and Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field, Quality Engineer Certification, and Green Belt Certification. Minimum 2+ years in Quality Assurance and 1+ year in a supervisory role; solar/PV manufacturing experience preferred.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary: $78,000 - $85,000/yearly with benefits including Paid Time Off, 401(k) Retirement Plan, Medical/Dental/Vision Insurance, Health Savings Account option, Employee Assistance Program, Tuition Reimbursement, and more.
