The Role: Sr. Solutions Architect
The Sr. Solutions Architect is a senior technical role at the intersection of fraud prevention, machine learning, and enterprise commerce. You will partner with our largest and most strategic merchants from Fortune 500 retailers and global consumer brands to architect technical solutions that address their complex fraud and data challenges.
This role goes far beyond product demos. You will define how Signifyd integrates with new industries and business models, influence our product and data science roadmap, and co-sell alongside Account Executives at the highest tier of our merchant base. You will partner internally with Product and Data Science to design API architectures and surface the data signals that power our ML models.
Your primary home is our Strategic account tier, comprising a handpicked set of named merchants with at least $2B in annual revenue. You will also provide coverage to large Enterprise merchants with over $500M in annual revenue as pipeline and capacity allow. This is a role for someone who thrives at the intersection of deep technical expertise and real strategic influence.
Responsibilities:
Strategic Sales Partnership
- Partner with Account Executives to drive the end-to-end sales cycle for Enterprise merchants, serving as the primary technical authority from initial discovery through contract execution.
- Lead executive-level technical presentations and solution design sessions, building credibility with merchant CTOs, VPs of Engineering, and Heads of Product.
- Own the technical validation process, including complex RFPs and high-stakes Proof of Concept (POC) engagements, ensuring a seamless transition from "technical win" to implementation.
Technical Architecture & API Integration
- Design and architect API integrations tailored to each merchant’s industry, business practices and solution requirements.
- Translate merchant requirements across new industries, payment models, and fulfillment operations into detailed integration schema, data flow designs, and data requirements.
- Lead technical discovery with merchant engineering and product teams to define integration scope, data requirements, success criteria, and key milestones.
- Ensure integration designs are scalable, maintainable, and aligned with Signifyd's platform capabilities and API standards.
Machine Learning & Data Strategy
- Evaluate the fraud risk profile of novel merchant business models and recommend integration and data strategies most likely to produce strong model performance and financial guarantee eligibility.
- Consult on data health by defining high-quality training signals for new merchant categories (Marketplace, Subscriptions, BOPIS) to ensure optimal model performance.
- Analyze fraud risk profiles for novel business models, recommending integration strategies that maximize model accuracy and financial guarantee eligibility.
- Partner with Data Science to validate model performance against merchant-specific datasets, ensuring Signifyd’s decisioning aligns with the client's risk appetite.
Product Influence & Internal Partnership
- Serve as the technical voice of the merchant to Signifyd's Product and Data Science teams surfacing capability gaps, feature opportunities, and data requirements from the field.
- Contribute meaningfully to the product roadmap with structured, evidence-based recommendations grounded in direct merchant feedback and competitive market dynamics.
- Partner with Implementation Managers during complex onboardings to ensure continuity between what was architected and what is built.
Requirements:
- 5+ years in a Solutions Architect, Principal Solutions Engineer, or equivalent senior technical customer-facing role (pre-sales or strategic post-sales).
- Hands-on experience designing and architecting API integrations — you can speak with authority to LLM/AI, REST, webhooks, data schemas, event-driven architectures, and common integration patterns in ecommerce environments.
- Meaningful exposure to bot mitigation/management, identity threat protection, digital identity, fraud detection, risk decisioning, payments processing including agentic commerce, chargebacks, or adjacent fintech domains.
- Working familiarity with machine learning concepts; how models are trained, evaluated, and improved, and an intuition for what data matters and why it matters for fraud decisioning.
- Proven track record working directly with enterprise merchants, retailers, or B2C brands at significant scale ($500M+ in annual revenue or equivalent complexity).
- Demonstrated ability to build technical credibility and trusted relationships with engineering leaders and C-suite stakeholders at major retail and consumer brands.
- Experience co-selling in complex, multi-stakeholder enterprise deals alongside a quota-carrying Account Executive.
- Comfort with ambiguity, shifting priorities, and the rhythm of a growth-stage company where the pipeline can be feast or famine.
Nice to Have
- Experience with chargeback representment, dispute resolution, or the acquiring and issuing bank ecosystem.
- Familiarity with major ecommerce platform architectures; Salesforce Commerce Cloud, Shopify Plus, SAP Commerce, Adobe Commerce, BigCommerce, or comparable.
- Prior experience at a fraud prevention, payments, identity verification, or risk intelligence company.
- Background working in or alongside named-account programs serving Fortune 500 retailers or global consumer brands.
- Program / project management experience whether leading an initiative or co-leading with an internal partner.
