About The Role
The AI Automation Engineer is responsible for building and optimizing AI-powered applications and agents that automate workflows across Signant Health. This role focuses on developing reliable automation solutions using n8n workflows, AI agents, and custom integrations to improve operational efficiency and accuracy.
What You Will Do
- Application Development: Develop AI applications using n8n and Python integrations, build automation pipelines, implement document processing and data extraction workflows, create reusable automation components, deploy LLM-based agents, and participate in code reviews.
- Platform Optimization & Evaluation: Implement evaluation methods for agent performance, develop monitoring dashboards, optimize workflow performance, apply prompt and context engineering, support A/B testing, and document performance metrics.
- Model Development & Fine-Tuning: Support LLM/SLM selection, implement inference optimization, develop evaluation datasets, implement RAG patterns, and assist with model customization.
- Security & Compliance: Follow security policies and healthcare regulations, implement secure data handling, maintain audit logging, and participate in security reviews.
- Collaboration & Technical Leadership: Work with team members and business stakeholders to develop solutions, communicate technical concepts, document processes, and support agile practices and onboarding.
Preferred Qualifications & Experience
5+ years of software engineering experience with strong Python proficiency and production system development. 2+ years hands-on experience with workflow automation platforms (n8n or similar) with additional experience in API integrations and prompt engineering. AWS certifications preferred and experience in healthcare or clinical research beneficial.
