Role Content
As a Construction Risk Consultant, you will undertake builder’s risk engineering surveys for building and construction/erection projects, relating to insurance covers including: Builder’s All Risks and Erection All Risks; Non-negligent Damage; Existing Structures; Delay in Start-up and Advanced Loss of Profit; and Third Party Liability. You will produce detailed construction insurance survey reports addressing all aspects of the project, project risks, and risk management practices. Your role will involve identifying recommendations for insured organizations to undertake to minimize loss potential on projects. You will provide construction risk advice to insurance clients, contractor clients, and end customer/developer clients. Furthermore, you will undertake desktop reviews of project plans and documents to provide a professional view of risks and risk quality for Underwriters and evaluate natural catastrophe exposures for projects. You will also undertake peer-to-peer report reviews, providing technical input and signing-off on report outputs prior to Client submission. Finally, you will provide technical construction mentoring support for Sigma7 / Risk Engineering's consultants across the global business.
Experience Required
We are seeking candidates with between 5 and 20 years of construction experience, preferably with a focus on risk management. A good working knowledge of NFPA 241 Standards for Safeguarding Construction, Alteration and Demolition Operations is essential. Insurance company training in relation to Builder’s Risk / Erection Risk insurance covers plus property risk engineering experience would be preferable. Language skills, particularly Spanish, would be a distinct advantage but not essential.
