About the Role
As a Cybersecurity Consultant vCISO at SIG, you will conduct high-impact assessments and deliver vCISO services, advising executive and technical teams. Your role involves assessing current security postures, identifying vulnerabilities, and providing actionable recommendations to bolster cybersecurity programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive security, risk, and vulnerability assessments.
- Develop and implement security policies and strategic roadmaps.
- Act as a virtual CISO advising on governance, risk management, and compliance.
- Educate client stakeholders on security best practices and emerging threats.
- Stay updated with industry trends and regulatory changes.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years of cybersecurity experience with proven assessment and advisory skills.
- Experience working with higher education clients.
- Familiarity with NIST CSF, CIS, ISO 27001 and regulatory requirements like GLBA, HIPAA.
- Relevant cybersecurity certifications such as CISA, CISM, CISSP, etc.
- Strong communication, analytical, and technical writing skills.
- Ability to manage multiple client engagements and work flexible hours when needed.
Pay and Benefits
The salary range is $130,000 - $155,000 plus bonus. Benefits include Health, Vision, Dental & Life Insurance, Short & Long Term Disability, Paid Parental Leave, 3 Weeks Vacation, Sick Leave & Paid Holidays, 401(K) with a 5% Employer Contribution, and Pet Insurance. Final compensation is based on candidate skills and location.
