Job Overview

Sienna Senior Living is seeking a casual on-call Maintenance Assistant. This role is critical in ensuring the safety, repair, and maintenance of our facilities. You will be available Tuesday - Saturday for shifts from either 8am-4pm or 9am-5pm.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute general repairs including painting, plastering, basic plumbing, woodworking, and non-licensed electrical tasks.
  • Perform cleaning tasks such as scrubbing, stripping, waxing floors, and maintaining premises.
  • Maintain building exteriors, grounds, parking lots, and clear snow/salt walkways.
  • Tend to lawns, gardens, and apply fertilizers for orderly grounds appearance.
  • Complete forms, write reports, and execute additional assigned duties.

Requirements

Candidates must have certification, training, and experience in building repairs, painting, floor care, and property maintenance. A background in basic plumbing, HVAC, and customer service is essential, along with 1-2 years of relevant experience. Excellent communication skills and independent/team work capabilities are required. All applicants must pass Vulnerable Sector and Criminal Records Checks.
