About the Role
Siemens Grand Prairie is seeking a Mechanical Engineer – Product Engineering to join our team. This role is crucial for supporting product maintenance, resolving issues, and driving continuous improvement for Panelboards (UL67) and Switchboards (UL891). You will focus on sustaining existing products, ensuring compliance, addressing field and manufacturing challenges, and enhancing reliability and cost-effectiveness.
What You Will Do:
- Investigate field, factory, and supplier issues.
- Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
- Support failure analysis using test data and inspections.
- Create and manage Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) and Engineering Change Notices (ECNs).
- Ensure compliance with UL standards and product certifications.
- Apply standard processes (8D, PPAP, deviations) for change evaluation.
- Maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) and product data in SAP and PLM systems.
- Drive cost reduction and product robustness improvements.
- Support value engineering initiatives based on field and manufacturing feedback.
- Resolve production and supplier-related issues.
- Ensure designs are manufacturable and aligned with production processes.
- Support and interpret thermal and electrical testing.
- Validate design changes through testing labs.
- Maintain and update 3D models, assemblies, and drawings using CREO.
- Implement engineering changes in CAD and ensure BOM alignment.
- Utilize digital tools and AI-assisted analysis for trend identification, root cause analysis, and efficiency improvements.
Qualifications:
- BS in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- 2–5 years of experience in product, sustaining, or manufacturing engineering.
- Strong experience with CREO (modeling, assemblies, drawings).
- Experience managing BOMs/materials in SAP or a similar ERP system.
- Familiarity with engineering changes and root cause analysis.
- Experience with panelboards, switchboards, or similar equipment (Preferred).
- Knowledge of UL67, UL891, and NEC (Preferred).
- Exposure to manufacturing processes and electrical testing (Preferred).
