Off-Shore Automation Engineer at Siemens Energy
As an Off-Shore Automation Engineer (m/f/d) at Siemens Energy, you will join a collaborative team dedicated to customer satisfaction and shared success. This role is within the warranty team, where you will ensure the seamless operation of offshore grid connection systems (HVDC) post-customer handover. Your responsibilities will span maintenance, modernization, and IT security for critical infrastructure in a hybrid work environment. You will work closely with interdisciplinary project teams and suppliers, addressing assigned challenges. Expect to work at our office, various customer sites, and both onshore and offshore at land stations and converter platforms. An extensive training program will prepare you for your future responsibilities.
How You’ll Make An Impact
- Evaluate and resolve warranty cases in automation and network technology for offshore grid connection systems.
- Diagnose and fix faults in control systems, control & protection, networking components, and peripheral systems.
- Collaborate with teams locally, nationally, and internationally.
- Interface with project teams from construction/commissioning, platform and HVDC engineering, service departments, subcontractors, and customers.
- Read and assess technical documentation (drawings) and perform necessary corrections (redlining) within your scope.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree as an electrical engineer, electronics engineer, or automation engineer.
- At least 5 years of professional experience in automation technology.
- Proficiency in engineering and commissioning of automation software PCS7 and HMI.
- Desirable skills include Simatic S7, T3000, WinCC, COPA-DATA Zenon, or similar.
- Fluent German and good English skills are required.
- Willingness to travel for national and international projects in Northern Europe, with assignments both onshore and offshore on HVDC platforms in the North and Baltic Sea.
- A valid driver’s license (comparable Class B).
- Willingness to undergo training for up to 2 years at the Siemens Energy Office in Hamburg, Germany.
