Job Description
A Snapshot of Your Day
Join Siemens Energy's innovative Gas Services Distributed business as an NDT Inspector, Forged Parts. You will independently perform non-destructive testing (NDT) and dimensional inspections on gas turbine and packaging module components, often collaborating with suppliers. Ensure inspections meet specifications and review technical documentation. NDT is typically performed at supplier locations. When deviations occur, you will describe them technically, communicate effectively, and coordinate actions cross-departmentally. You may also analyze automatically captured NDT data using various software applications.
How You’ll Make An Impact
- Responsible for preparing, executing, and following up on non-destructive inspections of gas turbine components.
- Qualify and develop suppliers, actively participating in quality improvement for suppliers and purchased parts.
- Prevent quality problems by developing preventive measures for suppliers.
- Utilize quality assurance methods, analyze defect causes, and initiate corrective measures with suppliers.
- Implement preventive SQM methods and risk management in supplier-related processes, projects, and products.
- Initiate, control, and actively track corrective and preventive actions for suppliers.
- Proactively collaborate with a global team and internal partners.
- Inspect automatically captured forging records using various software applications (DEA, TomoView...).
What You Bring
- Completed technical education, mechanical engineering, or similar.
- Certified to ISO 9712 or similar in VT, UT to at least Level II required; MT and PT desirable.
- Several years of relevant professional experience in NDT of forged components.
- Profound knowledge in applying quality methods such as 5 Why, FMEA, 8D, RCA.
- A team player with good collaboration and communication skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications and SAP.
- Business fluency in English.
- Ability to travel up to 60% nationally and internationally; hybrid working with 3 days in the office when not traveling.
