About the role
Data Quality Manager
As a Data Quality Manager, you will collaborate closely with business stakeholders, data stewards, and engineering teams across data domains to define and co-create data quality expectations. This role involves translating data governance strategy into scalable frameworks, embedding data quality and observability into existing processes and systems, and standardizing reusable capabilities. You will also strengthen metadata and governance practices, ensuring consistent operationalization throughout the organization. A key aspect of this role is defining and utilizing mechanisms to measure impact through business value, such as efficiency gains and reduced data risks, with regular insights shared with senior leadership to inform strategic decision-making.
How You’ll Make An Impact
- Execute enterprise data quality strategy by translating business objectives into scalable architectures, roadmaps, and implementation patterns.
- Define frameworks for measuring financial and operational impact, including the cost of poor data quality (COPDQ), efficiency gains, and revenue enablement.
- Standardize reusable data quality capabilities and integrate domain terminologies and semantic layers with quality rules and observability metrics.
- Establish governance structures, develop organizational capabilities, and define audit and assurance KPIs for enterprise reporting.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, data stewards, and engineers to define and refine data quality requirements.
- Develop and maintain a Data Quality Playbook and communicate insights to senior leadership for strategic decision-making.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science; for India, an additional MBA from a Tier-1 institution is required.
- 10 years of experience in data governance.
- Long-standing professional experience in data quality, data governance, or related data management fields within complex data environments, including multiple ERP, CRM, OEM systems, and data lake architectures.
- Strong expertise in data quality frameworks, metadata management, data lineage, and data catalogs, with advanced SQL proficiency and experience in modern data architectures (data lakehouse, data mesh, data fabric, streaming architectures).
- Experience in developing data quality business cases, prioritizing investments, and demonstrating sustained ROI from data quality programs.
- Strong stakeholder management, change management, and cross-functional leadership capabilities.
- Excellent English proficiency.
- Certifications in data governance or data quality (e.g., DAMA CDMP) and familiarity with ISO standards, SAP data extraction methods, and Salesforce APIs are considered a plus.
