Role
At Sid Lee, Content Creators bring an eclectic creative mix to everything we make. As unconventional makers and sharp storytellers, our creators move fluidly across formats and platforms. Working under a Creative Director, you’ll focus on a major brand in the DIY and home improvement retail space, collaborating closely with our multidisciplinary team to shape work that resonates.
You’ll concept and craft content for social and digital channels, including animated visuals, short form videos, designed imagery, and more, while keeping a pulse on culture and platform trends. You know how to adapt assets to specs and best practices, but you also think beyond the feed, developing ideas that can live larger than a single post.
Responsibilities
- Take part in developing ideas and expressing them in a creative way through different social media formats (TikToks, stories, reels, videos, carousel, image posts and any other engagement or conversion format types).
- Keep up with news, trends and hot topics to make content ideas more contextual.
- Produce and execute high-quality content, collaborating with other members of the team when needed.
- Ensure that the brand’s voice is being expressed on social media by adhering to brand guidelines.
- Develop content ideas for social platforms that are integrated as part of 360 campaigns.
Requirements
- Degree in communications, journalism or other related fields.
- 2+ years of experience in a similar role, in an agency or in media, which includes the creation of user engagement content for social media.
- Strong knowledge of social media and technical proficiency with these platforms.
- Very current with new visual trends of all kinds (advertising, trailers, teasers, design, etc.).
- Production generalist with proficiency in post-production – editing and remixing assets will be a key part of this role.
- Photography and videography skills are an asset.
- Strong knowledge of the Adobe suite and/or in-platform editing tools.
- Fluency in spoken and written French is required. Fluency in English, both spoken and written, to work with national and international clients and colleagues (50% of the time) is also required.
