Role Overview - Principal Product Designer

We are looking for a seasoned Principal Product Designer to shape world-class digital experiences. As a player-coach, you will lead detailed design work and mentor fellow designers, ensuring impactful, user-centric solutions, especially across mobile platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design Leadership: Steer design teams through ideation, research, prototyping, testing, and final implementation.
  • Design Expertise: Deliver rationale behind design decisions and articulate innovative trends.
  • Collaborative Spirit: Work with product managers, engineers, and stakeholders to align design processes.
  • Lead by Doing: Execute complex design projects while mentoring teammates.
  • Team Culture Builder: Foster a creative, inclusive, and learning environment.
  • End-to-End Experience Design: Craft holistic product experiences with attention to mobile user journeys.
  • Prototyping and Quality: Develop high-fidelity prototypes and seek continuous design improvement.
  • Data-Informed Decision Making: Use analytics to guide user-centric design choices.
  • Compelling Storyteller: Present design ideas clearly and effectively across audiences.

What We’re Looking For

Extensive experience in product design with a strong portfolio, expertise in intuitive and engaging design, mastery in prototyping (especially with Figma), and a deep understanding of user-centered design principles including usability and accessibility. Excellent communication and storytelling skills are essential, along with a passion for Shutterfly’s mission.
