About The Role

Our Growth Services team partners directly with these brands to architect and deliver high-performing, native Shopify experiences that drive measurable improvements in performance, conversion, and developer velocity.
As a Staff Technical Architect - Web Development, you will partner with Plus and high-growth merchants to architect and deliver best-in-class native Shopify storefronts through paid engagements. You will lead technical discovery, solution design, and proof-of-concepts across themes, checkout, and app/extension surfaces while setting frontend performance standards (Core Web Vitals) and coaching teams to meet them.
Your responsibilities include:
- Leading solution design and hands-on implementations.
- Setting performance standards and creating reusable reference implementations.
- Providing best-practice guidance on content modeling, multi-region architectures, and extensibility choices.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams and communicating with both technical and executive stakeholders.
- Leveraging AI tools to amplify impact and development velocity.

Your Skills and Experience:
- Deep expertise in Shopify Themes, Liquid templating, and Online Store 2.0.
- Strong skills in modern JavaScript, advanced CSS, and component architectures.
- Experience with checkout extensibility, Shopify Functions, and app/extension development.
- Proficiency with GraphQL, REST APIs, and automated development tools.
- Effective communication and stakeholder management.
Bonus if You Have:
- Experience with Hydrogen/Oxygen and headless implementations.
- A background with ERP/OMS/PIM integrations and internal tool development.
- Public thought leadership and consultancy experience with enterprise merchants.
How You'll Work:
You will manage engagements spanning short spikes to longer projects, balancing hands-on delivery with strategic architectural oversight in a dynamic, evolving environment.
