About The Role
Are you ready to decode commerce through the power of data? As a Staff Product Data Scientist - Americas at Shopify, you will work with one of the world's richest commerce datasets, analyzing millions of merchants generating billions of transactions. You will deeply understand Shopify products, tell their stories, and strategize on how to make them 10x better.
What You'll Do
This role involves heavy data science at an unprecedented scale. Your analyses, models, and insights will directly impact millions of entrepreneurs and billions of shoppers worldwide. You will:
- Unearth insights through advanced analytics from billions of transactions.
- Collaborate with product managers and engineers to translate data into actionable strategies.
- Apply statistical models, regression analysis, segmentation techniques, and experiments to optimize products.
- Build powerful data products that enhance merchant experiences across the buying journey.
- Lead high-impact projects, mentoring teams and influencing product decisions.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have a strong mastery of SQL, fluency in Python, experience with data visualization tools and machine learning, and proven expertise in statistical analysis and data modeling. You must be able to solve complex problems in ambiguous, fast-paced environments and have a history of shipping data products that drive business outcomes.
