Job Description
About The Role
Join Shopify’s Retail SMB team as an Account Executive focused on winning new business. You will work with entrepreneurs and small retail businesses to modernize how they sell online and in-store by matching Shopify’s commerce and POS capabilities to the business needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Own a defined territory and build a plan to win high-potential Retail SMB merchants.
- Generate pipeline through direct outreach including cold calls, emails, and door-knocking.
- Run discovery to understand merchant goals and recommend the right Shopify solution.
- Manage the full sales cycle from first contact through negotiation and signature.
- Engage multiple stakeholders and drive alignment on next steps.
- Partner with Marketing, Solution Engineering, and Customer Success to improve outcomes.
- Stay current on product updates and retail/commerce trends.
- Operate with discipline, prioritization and forecasting cadence.
Qualifications
- Experience in face-to-face selling and direct prospecting.
- Track record of new business acquisition and full-cycle deal ownership.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Experience with commerce and/or POS systems is a plus.
- Familiarity with CRM and sales tools like Salesforce.
