Job Description
About the Role
Join Shopify’s SMB team as an Account Executive focused on new merchant acquisition and expansion. Work with entrepreneurs and growing merchants (generally up to $5M in annual revenue) to help them start, scale, and get more value from Shopify across e-commerce and brick-and-mortar.
Key Responsibilities
- Source and engage merchants to understand their business goals and challenges.
- Conduct high-volume outbound outreach (calls, email, social) to build pipeline.
- Own the full sales cycle from initial contact through negotiation and close.
- Act as a trusted advisor by providing relevant product guidance and commerce insights.
- Drive expansion through product adoption and identify growth opportunities.
- Maintain discipline in CRM and sales tools for accurate forecasting.
- Leverage and create AI agents to improve learning and deal execution.
Qualifications
- Proven closing sales experience with strong track record in competitive environments.
- Comfort with outbound prospecting and high-volume sales initiatives.
- Demonstrated end-to-end sales cycle management skills.
- Experience in expansion, cross-sell motions, or account growth.
- Consultative and relationship-driven communication style.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Experience with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce) and sales engagement platforms.
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with commerce and experience in selling SaaS.
