Job Details
Objective
The Quality Manager - 2nd Shift performs quality inspection, testing, and audits of company products to ensure compliance with Quality Standards, Specifications, and Customer requirements.
Essential Functions
- Complete assigned quality inspection, testing, and audits in a timely manner.
- Operate common measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gages.
- Utilize specialized equipment like comparators, hardness testers, and torque/tension machines as applicable.
- Read and understand company and customer drawings and specifications.
- Prepare quality documentation and reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data.
- Participate in problem-solving teams and support other departments as needed.
- Follow work instructions, company policies, and maintain a safe, professional environment.
- Keep the workspace clean and organized.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Quality Manager.
Required Education and Experience
High School Diploma or equivalent with basic math skills, experience using measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, gages), and proficiency in MS-Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
Preferred Skills
Fastener experience is a plus.
Physical Demands
The role requires sitting, standing, walking, climbing stairs, and occasionally lifting/moving up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities including close vision, distance vision, color vision, and peripheral vision are required.
Work Environment
This position primarily takes place on the manufacturing floor and in the office. Appropriate safety gear, such as eye and hearing protection along with safety-toed shoes, is recommended while on the shop floor.
