Shipium is revolutionizing complex supply chains with cloud infrastructure and AI capabilities. As a Performance Engineer, you will be a crucial, customer-facing expert, leading the implementation and execution of Shipium's Compass Optimization Services. This role demands deep technical and operational expertise, a strong consultative approach, and the ability to identify trends and prioritize recommendations that deliver competitive advantages for customers.

What You'll Do

• Lead and manage complex customer engagements, utilizing simulations, analytical prowess, and industry expertise to guide shippers through critical optimization projects across Shipium’s full suite of services.
• Directly lead and execute key project types, including Carrier Portfolio Management, Strategic Planning Workshops, RFP and Negotiation Support (involving complex scenario modeling), Fulfillment Optimization (such as Inventory Positioning & Sourcing and Physical Network Design), and Controllership functions (e.g., Billing Management, Margin Analysis, and Budgeting Support).
• Serve as the continuous feedback loop between customer engagements and the Product Development team, clearly conveying project outcomes, recurring pain points, and new opportunities to directly inform and influence the Shipium product roadmap, amplifying the voice-of-the-customer.
• Utilize and interpret the Network Performance Dashboard and simulations to track the value realized from implemented changes and recommendations.
• Strengthen relationships across the Shipium organization to ensure adequate support and engagement in the program, both from a Services Delivery perspective and for a successful Product Development roadmap.

Technical Skills Required

• Proficiency with basic office products (Google Workspace, MS Office).
• Proven experience with self-service data extraction (SQL), analysis, reporting, and visualization tools.
• Familiarity with AI tools (Gemini, Claude, etc.) and the ability to apply them to customer use cases.
• Exposure to project management software.
• Ability to quickly learn new technology.

Qualifications

• Parcel Shipping Expertise (minimum 5 years): Essential hands-on experience within the parcel shipping and logistics industry, preferably as a shipper or providing strategic consulting to shippers.
• Contract Management (2 years): Familiarity with contract components and negotiation levers for cost, risk, and service; parcel and LTL contract negotiation experience is a plus.
• Invoicing Knowledge (2 years): Strong understanding of shipping invoicing, including cost components, surcharges, and discrepancy identification; parcel invoicing expertise is strongly preferred.
• Consultative Approach: Proven ability to diagnose complex business challenges, communicate strategic recommendations, and align client objectives with service delivery.
