Business Analyst Data Quality
Aquilasys Consultancy Pvt. Ltd. is seeking a Business Analyst with 3-7 years of experience to join their team. This role is based in Mumbai, Pune, or Chennai, with shift timings aligned with EMEA.
Position Overview
As a Data Quality Business Analyst, you will be the crucial link between business stakeholders and technical data teams. Your main objective is to ensure the integrity, accuracy, and reliability of organizational data. You will identify data anomalies and design the necessary frameworks, rules, and documentation to maintain a "Single Source of Truth" across the enterprise.
Key Responsibilities
- Data Profiling Quality Assessment: Conduct in-depth data profiling to identify gaps, inconsistencies, and anomalies in large datasets. Define and implement Data Quality Rules (Accuracy, Completeness, Consistency, Timeliness, and Validity). Develop and maintain Data Quality Dashboards for real-time visibility into business-critical data health.
- Requirement Sourcing Documentation: Collaborate with business units to understand data requirements and translate them into technical specifications for data engineers. Maintain the Enterprise Data Dictionary and Business Glossary for standardized definitions. Create detailed Mapping Documents (Source-to-Target) for data migration or integration projects.
- Root Cause Analysis (RCA) Remediation: Investigate the causes of data failures and coordinate with IT teams for permanent fixes. Lead data clean-up initiatives by identifying duplicate records and obsolete data points.
- Stakeholder Project Management: Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) during User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to ensure data outputs meet business expectations. Present data quality findings to senior leadership, highlighting risks and mitigation strategies.
Qualifications & Skills
Must-Have (Technical):
- SQL Proficiency: Ability to write complex queries for data extraction and analysis.
- Data Visualization: Experience with tools like Tableau, Power BI, or QlikView.
- Excel Mastery: Advanced functions (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, Macros).
- Methodologies: Strong understanding of SDLC and Agile frameworks.
Must-Have (Functional):
- Proven experience in Data Governance or Master Data Management (MDM).
- Strong analytical mindset for spotting patterns in data.
- Excellent communication skills for explaining technical data issues to non-technical stakeholders.
Good-to-Have:
- Knowledge of Data Quality tools (Informatica IDQ, Collibra, Talend).
- Experience in Capital Markets domain.
- Certifications such as CBAP or CDMP.
