Lead AWS Cloud DevOps Engineer

This role can be remote or based in any of the following Shift4 locations: Las Vegas, NV; Tampa, FL; Atlanta, GA; Morrisville, NC; Center Valley, PA. Relocation assistance may be available.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement AWS cloud infrastructure using best practices.
  • Lead and mentor senior and mid-level engineers across various locations.
  • Implement infrastructure as code for complex cloud environments.
  • Ensure platform reliability with observability, monitoring, alerts, and dashboards.
  • Collaborate with team members for elegant, business-aligned solutions.
  • Develop monitoring process recommendations across teams.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues in deployed systems.
  • Act as first line of defense during production outages.
  • Coordinate with development teams for frequent production releases.
  • Support a SaaS-based business model.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of DevOps experience with AWS.
  • 3+ years in a leadership role managing technical projects.
  • 5+ years using modern CI/CD technologies (GitLab or GitHub).
  • 3+ years with container orchestration (Kubernetes or Amazon EKS).
  • 3+ years of experience with Terraform in large-scale setups.
  • Strong detail orientation and problem-solving aptitude.
  • Experience with Agile project delivery and high uptime requirements.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written documentation skills.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience integrating monitoring tools (e.g., Datadog).
  • Familiarity with distributed cloud deployments (multi-region/multi-cloud).
  • Certifications such as AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, CKA, CDCD-001, Terraform Administrator, or CKAD.
