About the role
Sales Representatives - Business Development Representative
Sherwin-Williams is seeking a driven Business Development Representative (BDR) to initiate and manage customer relationships, serving as the primary point of contact for the Company. This role is crucial for coordinating selling efforts to drive new and incremental sales within our target account list. You will engage in face-to-face customer interactions, phone calls, and execute targeted selling events. The BDR will identify target accounts by collaborating with Sales Representatives to uncover opportunities for deepening business relationships. Heavy prospecting is essential, and you will be responsible for adding new accounts to our target list and meticulously logging all contacts and calls.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute strategies to grow sales and profits with key, opportunity, new, and existing customers.
- Build strong customer relationships by understanding and supporting their business needs.
- Conduct product demonstrations to showcase solutions tailored to customer requirements.
- Foster working relationships with stores to achieve overarching business goals.
- Generate qualified leads for the sales team.
- Assist in determining pricing schedules for quotes, promotions, and negotiations.
- Prepare and submit comprehensive weekly and monthly sales reports.
- Deliver impactful sales presentations to a diverse range of prospective clients.
- Coordinate sales efforts effectively with marketing programs.
- Understand and promote company programs and initiatives.
- Prepare and submit sales contracts for incoming orders.
- Visit clients and potential clients to assess needs and promote Sherwin-Williams products and services.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records.
- Address client inquiries regarding terms, products, pricing, and availability.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without sponsorship.
- Must possess a valid, unrestricted Driver’s License.
- High School diploma or GED required.
- At least one (1) year of experience in a retail, sales, or customer service position.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. frequently and up to 70 lbs. on occasion, and retrieve materials from shelves and floor stacks (with or without reasonable accommodation).
Preferred Qualifications:
- One (1) year of experience as an Assistant Store or Branch Operations Manager at Sherwin-Williams.
- Previous experience conducting outside sales calls.
- Associate's degree in business, sales, or marketing.
- Previous experience selling paint and paint-related products.
- Experience using timekeeping and/or customer relationship management (CRM) systems.
- Willingness to relocate for future career opportunities.
- Bilingual abilities (English and Spanish).
