About the Advanced Process Control Engineer Role
Shell is seeking an experienced Advanced Process Control Engineer to join the Chennai team in the TAS organization. This role focuses on process automation, control, and optimization as part of the PACO TOMship under Production Optimization GMship. The role primarily supports design, development, implementation, and monitoring of APC strategies for Shell assets.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, implement, and monitor APC strategies.
- Support Shell assets by optimizing production processes using APC on the PACE tool.
- Monitor and maintain APC systems in various Shell assets.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve control issues.
- Develop competencies within the APC team and drive quality improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or related field.
- Proven experience in the oil and gas sector with a focus on APC implementation.
- Strong knowledge in process automation, control, and optimization (PACO).
- Experience with DCS skills (Honeywell, Yokogawa, Emerson) and APC software tools (PACE, SMOC, DMC, Profit Suite/RMPCT).
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
