Role Overview

The Senior Monitoring Surveyor plays a crucial role within Shawbrook Bank's specialist team, offering in-house Independent Monitoring Surveyor expertise across Development Finance and Specialty Finance portfolios. This role is pivotal for maintaining robust risk management standards and ensuring compliance across development finance operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Detect early project delays and cost overruns.
  • Verify compliance with planning and building regulations.
  • Assess external market factors affecting development viability.
  • Conduct regular site visits and provide technical consultation.
  • Collaborate with origination and portfolio management teams.

Qualifications & Experience

A qualification in Quantity Surveying or a RICS accredited discipline is preferred. In-depth knowledge of the development finance market and experience with IMS reports or related roles in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or Project Management is required. Previous experience as an Independent Monitoring Surveyor is essential along with strong analytical skills and proficiency in Excel.
