The Specialist, Internal Communications & Engagement supports the execution of internal communication and engagement initiatives that inform, connect, and align Shake Shack team members across the organization. This role partners closely with the Director of Internal Communications & Engagement to deliver day-to-day communications, manage internal platforms, and coordinate content, tools, and events that support a positive Team Member experience and reinforce our culture. This role focuses on the coordination, execution, measurement, and continuous improvement of internal communication channels and engagement activities.Job Duties and Responsibilities
* Internal Communications Platforms: Administer and maintain internal communications tools, including the intranet, engagement platform, and internal newsletters. Manage content scheduling, posting, and updates in alignment with established content calendars and guidelines. Monitor and moderate Team Member contributions to ensure content aligns with acceptable use practices and communication standards. * Storytelling and Content Support: Support the development and sharing of Team Member stories that highlight recognition, performance, ERG initiatives, and Shake Shack’s values. Assist with drafting, editing, and formatting content for internal channels to ensure clarity, consistency, and accessibility. * Meetings and Engagement Event Coordination: Coordinate logistics and communications for internal meetings and gatherings such as all-hands meetings, L50, and other large team events. Provide planning and execution support for engagement initiatives and culture-building events, including Support Center events and ERG-led activities. Support post-event communications and follow-up as needed. * Measurement and Continuous Improvement: Track and monitor internal communications metrics such as engagement, readership, and feedback. Assist with compiling reports and insights to support ongoing optimization of communication channels and processes. * Employer Brand and Recognition Support: Partner with the People Team to support submissions for external awards that highlight Shake Shack’s culture and employee experience.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
* Education: Bachelor's Degree * Degree Field(s): Communications, Public Relations, or Human Resources * Work Experience: 2-4 years * Related Experience: Strong writing, editing, and verbal communication skills. Detail-oriented with strong project management and organizational skills. Ability to work collaboratively and cross-functionally with stakeholders at all levels. Experience with communications tools and platforms (e.g., intranet software, employee apps like Blink, Adobe Suite, Canva or email newsletter tools). Comfort with managing multiple deadlines and shifting priorities in a dynamic environment.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
* Education: Bachelor's Degree * Work Experience: 4-6 years * Related Experience: Experience working in a fast-paced, decentralized, or frontline-driven environment (hospitality, retail, or restaurant preferred).Benefits At Shake Shack
