Job Overview

The Sample Management Technician in Hayward, CA is responsible for entering sample IDs and required tests from chains of custody (COCs) into the LIMS accurately. The role includes receiving & documenting samples, maintaining sample integrity, generating bottle labels, and transferring samples between storage areas. This position reports to the Client Services Manager.

Job Functions

• Receive sample coolers and containers and document the receipt.
• Open and check sample containers (aqueous samples only) for preservation.
• Create bottle records, generate bottle labels, and label samples.
• Transfer samples between cold or ambient storage areas.
• Maintain accurate documentation and remove historical samples.
• Provide communication regarding sample information to laboratory departments and clients.
• Answer telephone inquiries and assist with bottleware, volumes, and courier pickups.
• Adhere to internal standards, policies, and procedures.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

A High School Diploma is required. Preferred qualifications include environmental laboratory experience and an associate degree in a science-related field. Candidates must possess proficient English, basic mathematical and computer skills, strong customer service abilities, and the capability to lift/carry/push or pull up to 50 lbs regularly.
