Job Description
Position Summary
The Global Supply Chain and Logistics Analyst supports the planning, execution, and continuous improvement of supply chain and logistics operations. This role focuses on data-driven analysis of inventory, transportation, warehousing, and supplier performance to drive cost reduction, service-level improvement, and operational efficiency across the network.
The position partners closely with Procurement, Operations, Finance, and external logistics providers to translate data into actionable insights.
Key Responsibilities
- Data Analytics & Reporting
- Analyze supply chain and logistics data related to inventory, transportation, warehousing, and service performance
- Develop and maintain KPIs and dashboards (OTIF, freight cost per unit, inventory turns, on-time pickup/delivery, carrier performance, etc.)
- Identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities using quantitative analysis
- Prepare clear, concise reports for leadership and operational teams
- Logistics & Transportation Analysis
- Analyze inbound, outbound, and intercompany freight spend
- Support carrier selection, RFPs, and rate benchmarking initiatives
- Monitor carrier and 3PL performance against SLAs and contracts
- Identify opportunities for mode optimization, consolidation, and route efficiency
- Inventory & Network Optimization
- Analyze inventory levels, safety stock, and service levels across sites
- Identify slow-moving and obsolete inventory risks
- Support network optimization initiatives (warehouse footprint, lane analysis, site consolidation)
- Partner with Planning and Operations to balance working capital and service levels
- Cost Management & Savings Tracking
- Track logistics-related cost savings, cost avoidance, and price variances
- Support budgeting and forecasting for transportation and warehousing costs
- Perform “should-cost” and scenario analyses for logistics decisions
- Support continuous improvement initiatives tied to measurable financial outcomes
- Process Improvement & Systems Support
- Identify inefficiencies and data gaps within supply chain and logistics processes
- Support standardization of logistics processes, SOPs, and reporting
- Assist with ERP, TMS, and WMS data integrity and system enhancements
- Support new system implementations, integrations, or upgrades
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Procurement, Operations, Finance, Customer Service, and EH&S teams
- Support plant and distribution leadership with analytics and insights
- Participate in special projects such as site consolidations, footprint changes, or M&A integration
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, Engineering, or a related field
- 2–5 years of experience in supply chain, logistics, transportation, or analytics
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, modeling)
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, JDE, etc.)
- Ability to clearly communicate data-driven insights to diverse stakeholders
Preferred Skills
- Experience in manufacturing, distribution, or industrial environments
- Familiarity with TMS/WMS platforms and logistics KPIs
- Experience with Power BI, Tableau, SQL, or similar analytics tools
- Knowledge of freight modes (LTL, FTL, parcel, ocean, air)
- APICS / ASCM or logistics-related certifications (CPIM, CSCP, CLTD)
- Comfortable with travel (up to 25%)
