Position Summary

The Plate Maker at Plate Maker performs tasks related to producing polymer printing plates from polymer sheet material, ensuring quality and precise specifications.

Job Responsibilities

• Sorts and prioritizes orders by due date and plate thickness.
• Inspects and cleans film negatives before polymer processing.
• Reviews orders to determine material, thickness, and digital specifications.
• Optimizes film layout and tapes film together.
• Determines exposure times and operates lasers, exposure unit, batch processor, and dryer/finishing unit.
• Performs quality checks to ensure plate specifications are met.
• Maintains a clean work area and safe operating conditions.
• Manages inventory control for plate and processing materials.
• Prepares finished plates for shipping and supports other departments as needed.

Qualifications

A high school diploma or GED is preferred and 1+ years of experience or equivalent education/experience. Basic proficiency in MS Office, analytical skills, mechanical aptitude and the ability to work independently and in a team in a fast-paced environment are required.

Physical & Work Environment

The role requires standing, walking, and occasional lifting up to 50 pounds in a manufacturing setting with exposure to chemicals, mechanical parts, and varying temperatures. Safety and adherence to regulations are critical.
