Why this role exists

Sezzle’s product portfolio is expanding rapidly from BNPL to subscriptions, shopping tools, and rewards. We need a leader to design with urgency, balance vision with execution, and leverage AI/ML tools to elevate user experiences.

Compensation

The yearly salary range for this role is between $165,000 - $206,000 CAD. Compensation is determined by education, experience, qualifications, and market data.

The impact you’ll have

• Set and execute the product design vision.
• Implement rapid concept-to-production cycles.
• Apply AI/ML-powered design tactics for efficiency.

What You'll Do

Strategy & Outcomes

• Partner with cross-functional teams to align design priorities with OKRs.
• Collaborate with marketing to ensure consistent brand interactions.
• Own and evolve the design system in Figma, aligned with Material UI and Sezzle brand.
• Develop frameworks balancing conversion, accessibility, and regulatory constraints.
• Drive design governance across web and native platforms.
• Identify opportunities to elevate user interface elements.

Operationalize AI in Workflows

• Rapid prototyping with tools like Figma Make and Midjourney.
• Auto-generate design variants and synthesize user feedback.
• Develop prompt playbooks and CI checks for brand consistency.

Team & Leadership

• Lead and mentor a team of 3-4 product designers.
• Recruit and develop future design talent.
• Create a culture of critique, speed, and accountability.
• Communicate design impact clearly to stakeholders.

You’ll excel if you have

• 10+ years in product/UX design with leadership experience.
• A strong portfolio in consumer fintech, e-commerce, or subscriptions.
• Deep understanding of graphic design principles.
• Experience using AI-assisted design and research tools.
• Proven experience with multi-platform design systems.
• Ability to interpret data to inform design decisions.
• Exceptional communication linking design to business impact.

Nice to have

• Experience in lending, card issuing, or payments compliance.
• Familiarity with React Native handoff nuances.
• Public speaking or published thought-leadership.
• Experience with Lottie or After Effects for motion specs.
