What We Need
To excel as a Digital Producer, you must demonstrate excellent writing and communication skills, sound news judgment, and meticulous attention to detail. A strong sense of urgency, the ability to multi-task effectively, and a thorough understanding of online content distribution are also critical.
Key Responsibilities
- Source, write, and publish original stories specifically for TheNightly.com.au website.
- Utilise social media platforms for both the discovery of compelling stories and their effective promotion.
- Produce engaging video content optimized for various digital platforms.
- Apply expert news judgment and leverage analytical tools to maximize story visibility and reach.
- Write and meticulously edit all content, including headlines, captions, and embedded media elements.
- Maintain acute awareness of legal and ethical issues pertinent to news reporting.
- Represent Seven West Media professionally and courteously in all internal and external interactions.
- Continuously upskill, staying abreast of the latest technology and digital trends in the media landscape.
- Work effectively and collaboratively within a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Conduct professional and thorough interviews to gather accurate and compelling information.

- A degree in Journalism coupled with proven experience working within the media industry.
- A strong work ethic and a healthy level of initiative in approaching tasks.

- The ability to work autonomously and perform effectively under high-pressure situations.
- Flexibility to work across a seven-day newsroom roster, including weekend shifts and later shifts as required.
