Role Overview
The Staff Information Security Engineer helps secure ServiceNow’s infrastructure by designing and deploying security solutions across network, server, authentication, and certificate ecosystems. Working collaboratively with infrastructure and cloud teams, you will embed security best practices into scalable, automated defenses.
Responsibilities
- Implement controls to secure networks and servers from unauthorized access.
- Collaborate with platform and SRE teams to harden infrastructure.
- Deploy secure container configurations and integrate security into Kubernetes.
- Manage and automate certificate lifecycle and security operations.
- Enforce secure authentication, least privilege access, and passwordless initiatives.
- Build monitoring and detection capabilities to reduce response times.
- Contribute to threat modeling, security reviews, and compliance assessments.
- Automate routine security operations and reporting to cut manual effort.
Qualifications & Desirable Skills
Candidates should have a Master’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience with 8+ years of hands-on engineering experience. Proficiency in operating system and server security (Linux, Windows), enterprise networking, scripting, and automation (Python, Bash, Go, etc.) is required. Desirable skills include container security, certificate management, modern authentication practices, familiarity with SIEM systems, infrastructure-as-code tools, and a growth mindset.
