About the Role

The Staff Data Platform Software Engineer on ServiceNow's Analytics Team is responsible for developing robust data pipelines, semantic layers, and data applications that transform and enhance data accessibility and usability for accurate analytics and informed decision-making.

  • Develop and refine data pipelines and semantic layers.
  • Code in Java and related object-oriented languages.
  • Work with big data technologies like Spark, Trino, and others.
  • Collaborate with teams to ensure scalable data applications.
  • Maintain high-performance solutions for evolving data needs.

What You Need to Know

Candidates must have 10+ years of experience in Java (or similar languages) and expertise in data platforms including Lakehouse, Iceberg, Delta tables, and more. Familiarity with SQL, relational databases, Unix shell, and advanced testing is essential. Additional skills in JavaScript and technical leadership are a plus.
