Role Overview: Senior Network Engineer

ServiceNow’s load-balancing (ADC) team is responsible for delivering application traffic to every customer worldwide. As a Senior Network Engineer, you will maintain software-defined declarative infrastructure at scale, manage large-scale infrastructure with code, and integrate both open-source and commercial tools.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and manage software-defined infrastructure using code.
  • Implement new tools and technologies including open-source solutions.
  • Collaborate with global peer teams on network and orchestration solutions.
  • Resolve both urgent and non-urgent operational issues in load-balancing infrastructure.
  • Participate in on-call rotations and perform routine upgrades and security patching.
  • Partner with SRE team and contribute to continuous deployment automation.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of expert experience in Layer 4-7 networking protocols (TCP/UDP, SSL/TLS, HTTP/HTTPS).
  • Exceptional troubleshooting skills and self-reliance.
  • Experience with Linux systems automation tools (Terraform, Cobbler, Puppet, Ansible).
  • Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and related internet protocols (DNS, LDAP, NTP, SMTP).
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work with globally distributed teams.
  • Experience in leveraging AI to improve work processes is a plus.
