About the Role
The Assistant Project Manager helps oversee commercial and industrial restoration projects including fire, water, mold, and natural disaster losses. This role ensures efficient operations, safety compliance, clear direction for crews, and adherence to ServiceMaster Recovery Management standards.
What You Will Do
- Manage line-ups and conduct Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) readings
- Monitor and ensure timely, safe crew operations
- Set up temporary offices and safety stations
- Maintain and update supervisor assignment sheets and project reports
- Train supervisors on paperwork, photos, policies, and procedures
- Lead quality control, ensuring proper use of equipment and adherence to safety protocols
- Coordinate with Project Managers regarding supply needs and equipment usage
Additional Responsibilities
Assist with administrative tasks, maintain cleanliness and organization of equipment, ensure proper documentation, and resolve issues related to procedures and safety. Travel requirements include up to 90 consecutive days and at least 200 days per year. This role may supervise technicians, supervisors, general labor, and subcontractors.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of large loss experience
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Mechanical aptitude and valid driver’s license (CDL preferred)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and smart devices
- Experience with heavy equipment and restoration tools
- Ability to pass drug test and medical evaluation
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand for long hours, lift over 50 pounds, and perform tasks in various weather conditions. Must wear mandated PPE and pass DOT medical inspections.
