Role Overview
The Head of Safety at Serve Robotics is critical for scaling our operations. You will build comprehensive safety strategies for our delivery operations and autonomous systems while working across teams to ensure the safe operation of our robots and personnel.
Responsibilities
- Lead development and implementation of safety strategies for delivery operations.
- Conduct safety assessments, audits, and risk management processes.
- Define and articulate the company's safety vision and align with industry standards.
- Build and manage a team addressing Trust & Safety and related needs.
- Collaborate with engineering, product, and operations teams on safety projects.
- Manage safety-related projects including testing programs and facility oversight.
- Communicate safety strategy to partners, regulators, and the public.
- Develop and implement safety training programs for employees and stakeholders.
- Investigate incidents, determine root causes, and recommend corrective actions.
Qualifications
- BS Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- 8+ years experience in Automotive, Transportation, Aerospace, Robotics or similarly regulated industries.
- Deep technical expertise in safety engineering with a high-tech environment focus.
- Excellent communication skills for engaging with partners, regulators, and stakeholders.
- Experience in data analysis, risk and reliability functions.

Previous experience in autonomous vehicle companies and a strong grasp of current safety standards for managing a fleet of autonomous vehicles.
