About the Associate Claims Representative Liability Role at Sentry

Sentry is expanding its team, seeking experienced claims professionals to support The General business line. This Associate Claims Representative Liability role focuses on NSA claim investigations, liability decisions, and settlement negotiations, offering significant growth opportunities within a supportive environment.

Work Model and Location

This position follows a hybrid work model, requiring in-office presence Tuesday through Thursday, with optional work-from-home on Monday and Friday. Candidates will be based out of one of Sentry's offices in Nashville, TN; Davenport, IA; Madison, WI; Stevens Point, WI; or El Paso, TX. This role specifically supports the Mountain (MTN) and Pacific (PST) time zones and is not available for fully remote work.

Key Responsibilities

As an Associate Claims Representative Liability, you will build upon your existing claims foundation by:

  • Supporting customers with empathy, guiding them through difficult situations, and clearly communicating claim processes, status, and decisions.
  • Verifying coverage and ensuring reasonable payments by thoroughly reviewing policies, accident details, and relevant claim information.
  • Conducting comprehensive claim investigations, including taking and reviewing recorded statements from involved parties and witnesses, and analyzing policy reports and other evidence.
  • Applying your expertise to accurately evaluate claim exposure and establish timely reserves.
  • Ensuring compliance with industry regulations, legal requirements, and internal company policies through meticulous documentation of all decisions, correspondence, and discussions throughout the claim lifecycle.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain state-specific property and casualty claims licensing.
  • Strong preference for previous experience with Auto Liability Claims.
  • Solid understanding of each phase of the claim handling process and casualty coverages.
  • Demonstrated experience handling moderately complex claims.
  • Experience with 1st and 3rd party, multi-line claims across various operating territories.
  • Proven ability to provide customer-driven solutions and support.
