Job Overview
The Senior Director, Technical Writing is a strategic and operational leader charged with defining, scaling, and elevating the entire content ecosystem. This role oversees technical documentation, content strategy, information architecture, multimedia assets, developer experience content, and the tooling infrastructure to ensure world-class content delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and own a comprehensive enterprise-wide content strategy.
- Team Management: Mentor and grow a global team of writers, strategists, and editors.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with product, engineering, UX, and support teams.
- Content Operations: Oversee CMS/CCMS platforms, documentation portals, and authoring workflows.
- Customer Success: Ensure all documentation enhances product adoption and user satisfaction.
Required Skills and Experience
Applicants should bring over 12 years of experience in technical writing, documentation leadership, or content strategy, along with 7+ years managing large, geographically distributed teams. A strong background in cybersecurity or technology domains, expertise in modern documentation tooling, and proven cross-functional leadership are vital.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in enterprise SaaS, AI/ML, and Docs-as-Code methodologies is preferred. Familiarity with API documentation frameworks, localization, and accessibility standards will be an advantage.
